Message from the Executive Director
First Steps, Inc. believes you should never underestimate a child. Our programs touch the lives of children and families throughout the greater Nashville area. The over 500 children we serve each year come from very diverse backgrounds, all benefiting from our commitment to enhancing each child's unique potential. The McWhorter Family Children's Center represents an exceptional opportunity for children of all levels of ability to come together to work toward their educational goals. Our staff is specially trained to work with diverse populations, including children with feeding tubes, seizures disorders and special mobility and seating equipment. We strive to be a model environment for quality childcare programs through individualized curriculum and a focus on pre-literacy skills. We are very proud of our 54 year history in the Nashville community. It is an exciting time for First Steps as we strive to reach our vision for our next 50 years of service to children and families.
